CATALINA ISLAND... KILLING PLAN FOR SHARPSHOOTERS IN HELICOPTERS TO MASSACRE THE ISLANDS MULE DEER STOPPED DEAD!
CATALINA ISLAND - The Proposed Murderous “Ariel” Killing of Wild Mule Deer and Chemical Sterilization was Stopped by a Convincing Letter Written by “The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors”.
But the Extermination Of These Animals Is Still On The Table!
The letter was spearheaded by L.A. County Supervisor Janice Hahn and was successful in defending the Mule Deer against the Catalina Island Conservancy, a 501(c)(3) non-profit that planned sharpshooters to attack the defenseless mule deer from helicopters.
The Animal Report of O.C. did a quick Google search and found that the Conservancy's Conservation programs focus on resiliency of the Island and its plant and animal populations, partnerships with researchers and implementation of long-term studies, preservation of historic cultural resources, and synergy of conservation efforts with education and recreation programming.
The Conservancy is still looking to exterminate the island's mule deer.
The animal protection organization, "In Defense of Animals", says in their e-news publication, “Just leave the deer alone.”, and The Coalition to Save Catalina Island Deer, agrees.
